Amri Helping Hands Society organised a one-day awareness programme on “Sericulture” in collaboration with Department of Sericulture, West Karbi Anglong at Amkachi Village, Amri block on 27-11-2020.
First of all, our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Francis Timung, Superintendent In charge of Department of Sericulture, West Karbi Anglong for his full support to conduct the program.
Resource person present were Mr Mongolsing Rongpi, Sericulture Inspector, under Superintendent of Sericulture Hamren. He was accompanied by Mr James Mr Mongolsing Rongpi, Sericulture Inspector Tisso, Technical staff, Mr Kenedy Engleng, Technical staff, Mr Rajen Teron, Staff.
Invited guest present were SGB Mr Divan Teron and SGB Mr Prodip Kro.

Our Resource person, Mr Mongolsing Rongpi, Sericulture Inspector gave advance knowledge to our participants on how rear various species of silkworm and encouraged them to do a commercial rearing to improve their livelihood . Suggestions were given to rearers on how to rear in a hygienic way and prevent silkworm from various sicknesses. Training were given on how to rear:
- Muga Silkworm
- Mulberry Silkworm
- Eri Silkworm
- Tasar Silkworm
Around 35 participants attended the said event from Birsingki and Tin Alum Village . They expressed their gratitude to the Organisers Amri Helping Hands Society & Department of Sericulture, West karbi Anglong, Assam. They welcomed more of such programs.
